Massachusetts K-12 Climate Change Challenge

Imagine empowering every student in Massachusetts to tackle climate change head-on.  That's exactly what the Massachusetts K-12 Climate Change Challenge aims to do.  From elementary "Climate Detectives" observing local weather patterns to high school data analysts modeling complex climate systems, this year-long program engages students at every level in various challenges proposed by environmental organizations.  Teachers can apply for special grant funding for their challenge projects.  Partnering organizations will provide monthly webinars/check-ins with participating teachers and students.  Students will be able to present at a symposium in May/ June.

  • November 14th: Free Kick-off event for K-5 educators

  • November 15th: Free Kick-off event for middle and high school educators

Location: Nipmuc Regional High School, 90 Pleasant St., Upton, MA

Join us for an innovative workshop designed to empower educators with cutting-edge climate change education strategies.  Gain hands-on experience with climate science tools, discover engaging classroom activities, and connect with a network of passionate educators.  Leave inspired and equipped to foster the next generation of climate-aware citizens.  Lunch will be provided.  We’ve been fortunate in securing grant opportunities for educators wishing to take on these climate challenges.  Before the day ends, you’ll be able to submit a grant application and take an implementation plan back to school.
